Essential Tools Image Editing Software

Image Editing software is essential if you want to get the best results from your cameraphone shots, and the king of editing software is Photoshop. Photoshop is the industry standard editing software and comes at a hefty price, but if you cannot afford the £500 + price tag there's no need to worry, there are cut down versions of photoshop available at a cheaper price. The cheaper versions of photoshop are called Photoshop elements and all versions will enable you to get the absoulute very best from your photographs. I used Elements 2 for a long while and its features are plentiful and good enough to get you started in editing. Later versions are available now at a price of around £40 - £60 and you can always pick up older versions like 2 or 3 second hand, its worth looking on ebay or even asking friends or fellow enthusiasts, as copies of elements are included in some digital camera packages and the owners may have upgraded or no longer use them. Once you have got your copy of Photoshop elements you can really start to improve your photographs. A simple levels adjustment, some sharpening, a color boost and crop can turn your plain picture into a masterpiece. You can learn how to edit your pictures from books, magazines and the many websites available. Your Sony Ericsson is an expensive tool and its worth spending a bit extra on editing software to get those professional results.

BluephoneElite software

I just downloaded the BluephoneElite Demo software from
http://mirasoftware.com/BPE/
Its very good and seems reasonably easy to set up. Using a bluetooth connection to your Mac you can send SMS text messages from your computer and more, its well worth a try and at $20.00 to register it is a must have applicxation. There is a 2.0 version also available that works with os X 10.4 Tiger this version will allow you to use your mac's microphone/speakers to make and receive calls. Check it out.

Off my trolley

I got this shot today, unfortunately I did not get a focus lock owing to the swiftnessI needed to take the shot, it was a busy day and people waiting to get their trollies must have thought I was rather strange, I could see the excellent patterns in the grocery karts though and really needed to get this shot. I think the recurring pattern is fantastic and I am quite pleased with the shot.

one in mono to finish with...

Tomato number 2

Tomato 1

Had some fun shooting this tomato this afternoon. Could do with forcing the flash dont know if its possible as the camera tends to set high Iso rather than go into flash mode which results in a noisy picture. I think I may be able to remedy this for macro shots by using a cheaply available Halogen desklamp. be interesting to try. I love this phone

...and a Mono Version

Brewers Fayre

The above is a restaurant at the side of Torquay harbour /Beacon Quay, called Brewers Fayre.

These next shots show Torquays latest piece of sculpture in the Harbour / Beacon Quay Area.

Yellow peppers and Grapefruit

These next pictures are also from my first time using the K800i. With The K800i being small and unobtrusive it encourages you to use it when you would think twice about using your large camera. I took these shots in the local supermarket,I still felt a bit self conscious but it was not so bad as using a large camera and enabled me to get some shots that I would not normally have been able to. The peppers turned out very nice although I had to crop the picture as there were not many in the basket and I wanted them to fill the picture with no gaps. The grapefruit were plentiful although I didn't think they were as photogenic as the peppers.

Grater

This was My first shot with the K800i, a Macro of a grater in my Kitchen. The macro function of the K800i is quite useful and allows you to focus from approximately 5cm - 50cm.

Welcome

Welcome to my Sony Ericsson K800i Page. The Sony Ericsson K800i is currently one of the most feature packed camera phones on the market and serves as a useful tool for established photographers and newcomers to the hobby alike. Newcomers can take advantage of the many automatic and scene modes, while the more advanced photographer can take full advantage of the 3 megapixel resolution, auto focus and macro mode. I always try to carry a camera with me most of the time, but there is always the time when you walk/drive to the shop for a bottle of milk and you may just encounter some event worth snapping, you may kick yourself for not bringing the camera with you this time but who would have thought an opportunity would arise. With the Sony Ericsson k800i this need never be a problem again, slip it in your pocket and you are set to go. using this page I hope to share with you some of the pictures I create with the K800i and also some hints and tips you can use with the k800i or any other camera phone. I hope you will find this page interesting, helful or both.
